Hartford, Connecticut has a treasure hiding in plain sight. The Wadsworth Atheneum is a world-class museum endowed largely, like the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, by J. P. Morgan. There is a So Busy Learning article about it here , but I wanted to highlight a few things from a recent visit.
There is currently a special exhibition called Gerald Incandela: Photographic Drawings where the artist actually paints directly on photo prints as they're being developed!

While at the Wadsworth, a favorite work I am always sure to stop by is Julius L. Stewart's
